Theodore
J. Voneida, Ph.D.- Dr Voneida graduated
from Ithaca College in 1953, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology
and Physical Therapy. He obtained a Master of Science Education degree at
Cornell University in1954, and served in the Army Medical Corps at The Walter
Reed Institute of Research from 1954 to 1956, in Dr. Walle J.H. Nauta's
laboratory. He returned to Cornell University in 1956, and completed his
Ph.D.(Neuroanatomy) in 1960, in Dr. Marcus Singer's laboratory. He held
a postdoctoral fellowship in Dr. Roger Sperry's laboratory at the California
Institute of Technology from 1960 to 1963, after which he joined the Department
of Anatomy Faculty at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
He was invited to become founding Chairman and Professor of Neurobiology
at the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine in 1976, where
he remained until his retirement in 1996. He presently serves there as Professor
Emeritus and Course Director in Neurobiology. His published research includes
articles on the basal ganglia, visual system, interhemispheric connections
and functions, and neural pathways in conditioned learning. His first computerized
textbook, "The Graphic Brain - Neuroanatomy", was published in 1991, and
is presently used in numerous medical and graduate schools in the U.S. and
abroad. He has received many awards for excellence in teaching, including
the first Master Teacher Award at the Northeastern Ohio Universities College
of Medicine. Contact Theodore Voneida, Ph.D. by email at voneida@brainviews.com.
Richard
M. Vardaris, Ph.D. - Dr. Vardaris received
his Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, in Experimental Psychology from
Case Western Reserve University in 1962. His degrees of Master of Science
(1967) and Doctor of Philosophy (1968) were awarded in Medical Psychology
by the University of Oregon College of Medicine. While doing his graduate
work there he studied and did research with Richard F. Thompson, Judson
Brown, and Robert Fitzgerald. Upon completing graduate studies he joined

a seminal role in creating the Northeastern Ohio Universities College
of Medicine. He served as Director of the Division of Biomedical Sciences
at Kent State University for several years. He also founded and directed
the annual Conference on Excellence in College Teaching which takes place
at Kent State University. Dr. Vardaris has published the results of his
research projects that dealt with learning and memory, motivation and
autonomic function, hippocampal function in learning and memory, and hippocampal
slice methodology applied to the study of drugs of abuse and steroid hormones.
The later years of his research career were occupied with investigations
of electrical recordings of the brain during cognitive functioning in
humans. He currently has the status of Professor Emeritus of Psychology
at the university, after having retired from that institution in 1996.

multimedia business in 1989, Mr. Vinson has produced multimedia software
for the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Cleveland Children's Museum, the Great
Lakes Science Center, Rockwell Software, Inc., Progressive Insurance Co.,
Lexmark International, and dozens of others. His last known day job was
as Exhibit Computer Tech for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum preparing
the museum for grand opening in 1995 and beyond. Since then, he has played
an integral role launching Brainviews and developing the Animated Brain.
Vinson is a Macromedia Certified multimedia instructor. When not working,
he enjoys travelling to exotic locales such as Stovepipe Wells, CA (where
the pic was taken).
Jennifer Thompson
received her Bachelor of Fine Art's degree
in Graphic Design and Illustration from Kent State University in 1991.
Her experience in multimedia began in 1991 and since then she has created
graphics and animation to be used in software for various clients including
the Cleveland Children's Museum, Cleveland Cavaliers, Bank One, Lexmark
International and The Great Lakes Science Center. During the last few
years the majority of her work has involved the creation of graphics to
be used in various children's educational publications. Currently she
is involved in the design and creation of several web sites through her
own business, Flyleaf Studio. Her involvement in the Graphic Brain and
the Animated Brain included creation, compilation and animation of graphic
screens used to illustrate these software programs. Check out Jen's work
